  • Medium sized North Lakes routes anyone?

All the rides I’ve been on in the Lakes have been either big epics (Helvellyn, High Street, Garburn pass etc.) or little blasts around the 2 hour mark (Borrowdale bash, Claife Heights, Grizedale Forest).

Can anyone give me some recommendations for something in between, around the 20-25km mark? Ideally somewhere in the north with easy escape out to the A66.

    cheers

Skiddaw Loop? Various ways to do it, best is probably heading north from Keswick, through Dodd Woods (not all legal), up Whitewater Dash and to Skiddaw Hostel. Keep heading south and along Latrigg Fell then back down into Keswick.

Other option is to start at Threlkeld and do a figure of 8 loop, up to Skiddaw Hostel, turn right and down the valley, loop round left and come up Whitewater Dash from the north.

Skiddaw House so you can work the rest of the route out from there, it’s all easy to navigate.
