Hey, Ive got a pair of 2005 Marzocchi All Mountain 3 forks. Dead simple things with nothing to really go wrong, after giving them a bit of a service today I noticed that it may be possible to increase the travel of my forks by removing the 2 preload spacers (items 31 in the pic). Can anyone here confirm if this is possible or do I risk buggering my forks? I can only think that the longer travel versions come with longer stantions but I would like to know for sure. Any help would be much appreciated…

Travel can be adjusted (look the same as my z1 freerides), depends where you move the spacers too.

If they are in the top of the fork with the spring then thats set at max travel i.e. 150mm

If you stick em in the bottom of the fork above the rebound spring (on the pumping rod assembly) then that should set em at 130mm. You can have the travel anywhere inbetween aswell I guess, just make some spacers to suit.

I lowered mine to 120mm cos I made some longer spacers and they work fine
