glucose intolerant here - bad genes but never had a sweet tooth
so loads of carbs and timing as carbs work thru but needs 40mins min
before riding
wheatabix, plain muesli (no crispy stuff), skimmed milk, low fat yog and lots of fruit
wholemeal toast (lots), poached eggs
whilst riding
malt loaf, pitta bread, apples
raisins, dried apple, bananas*
power bar for emergencies
cafe stops
tea cakes, bacon in wholemeal, chips if riding all day
* some consider bananas the work of the devil
edit not one for nuts - don't like after taste but mrs antigee is sugar intolerant/gluten intolerant but nut bars are big on her ride diet as a pick up - lot of calories in them and the protien kills hunger but not for me aftert aste too dry and gritty
