Cor.. how far away from your house?
you'll get used to the 'whomp, whomp' noise, no doubt.
Have you heard how noisy they are once they get going?
Further than it looks - probably half a mile or so I'd guess. There should be another one going up before Easter too, that one will be more like a mile away.

These ones were making a right racket last week.
Whomp + Groan + Howlling screech.

FWIW I like them... but I wouldn't want one at the bottom of the garden.
They fail in some quite impressive ways too;
Don't worry, it'll probably be stationary most of the time
place your barbecue in the right place and you could get the freshest sliced duck / swan / sparrow / starling / goose / woodpecker, etc
