Only read half the first page, but normally (might be law?) that most things like this (loans/high ££ items) have “cooling off” period?
Best comment of the thread so far.

Clearly falls into…
those which just read a couple of posts at the beginning then skipped to the end
But was at least good enough to admit it
LeeWFull MemberDon’t you have to say her name three times for her to appear?
Ling, Ling, LING!
thegreatapeFree MemberI think you have to say LINGsCARS three times for it to work.
dalesjoeFree MemberBlimey, this really has been a superb thread. Definitely the best I’ve followed, been hooked from the moment that Ling character turned up!
The most interesting aspect in my opinion was her tone on here. Or, more importantly the sudden & blindingly obvious change in tone & style as soon as the STW legal chaps started posting some actual facts. Was almost like suddenly her whole game fell apart once she had been caught out. Went from the pantomime character to very aggressive & confrontational. Clearly rattled!
I still can’t quite fathom why you would behave in such a way on a public forum like this. Im no expert in how search engines work. However, if you were to type in the name of the company & get a link to this thread it wouldn’t be the best advert in my opinion.
As for the OP. Good luck with everything & your recovery. Some harsh comments on here I feel. At the end of the day cooling off periods are for your exact situation eg you’ve changed your mind!
I’ve never understood car leasing. I’ve tried but just can’t justify it/convince myself it works. I suppose if I had to have a newer car than my neighbor then I might join the club and join the white Audi leased brigade. It used to be the case you bought what you could afford. Sure I’d like a BMW M5. But I’m not wealthy enough! Now it seems half the cars you see are likely rented.
For now though I’ll stick to my rule of buying a 2 yr old car I can afford to buy. I certainly know one company I’d be avoiding though.
funkmasterpFull MemberThe fee of 600 covers what exactly..
£500 +VAT 🙄
I can tell my new daughter all about this thread when she’s older. On the day you were born Daddy stayed level headed, calm and affable because he was reading one of the best threads he’s ever come across. A man tried cancelling a purchase well within the period he was legally entitled to do so. The deranged lady that was selling it didn’t like this.
geordiemick00Free MemberNot a chance, she is off on honeymoon right now…
I’m sure it’s for less than days so her Groom can back out 😛
geordiemick00Free MemberI’m up to page 12.
Worth carrying on?
It’s only like warm at that point….
aracerFree MemberPosting a link to her website and some of you lot linking through might work
I’ll get in touch with my Russian and Peruvian mates and see if they want to browse any more expensive and unusual cars to get her senses twitching.
singlespeedstuFull MemberCan some one please shut this shit down and just start a new thread when it’s all resolved please.
It’s like looking at a load of vultures circling a half dead cow.
It’s really not a good reflection on anyone…
A few people have given professional advice and even fewer have tried to bring a bit of humour which is brilliant but the rest of you come across like you’re trying to put someone down to make your own life seem better.RustyNissanPrairieFull Memberthis threads is almost worth the all the rogue pop ups and redirects……..

That’s too premature, I’ve not quite been vilified enough yet…
Still no invoice as of yet but formal complaints now submitted so expecting invoice as a retaliation once Trading Standards and the FCA have visited..
PoopscoopFull MemberHello all.
When I fist dipped into this thread it was out a little boredom more than anything. I don’t tend to venture far from the Biking Forum most of the time partly because of some of the animosity that can show up on the Chat Forum threads. How could such a thread as this get out of hand though, right? Initially I only posted a couple of poorly scribed jokey posts, “what sort of steerer has the OP ordered though Ling?” type stuff. Didn’t think much more of it all at that point.
For me the course of the thread changed when Lind became so belligerent and threatening, repeatedly saying she would post confident data about the OP on here. A public forum. Im no legal expert but even I know that’s completely against data protection law and shows an utter contempt for any semblance of professionalism or ethics. I pointed this out a few times to Ling…
This is when I began to notice yet another worrying trait of Ling as a company owner. She simply avoids questions she has no good answer to… States that Geteshead Trading Standards have approved her contract she expects people to sign… Asked relentlessly for proof of this and countless more “facts” she just either ignores the questions, muddies the waters or retreats back to the safety of her FB page echo chamber.
Its around this time I also notice an interesting trait shown by some of the posters on here. By this point Ling had:
Made her pretty hard line approach to immigration clear. Though car leasing company owners are obviously far more important to this country than the poorly paid Eastern Europeans that actually pick the food that goes onto her and everyone elses tables on here. Look at the vid posted regarding her thoughts on this particular subject. Not relevant to this thread directly but it shows a few character traits. I only bring up Lings immigrant status as she makes it relevant in that video before she goes on to express her views on Brexit and immigration. Before the microphone is quickly taken away from her… I am pro immigration just so people know. I think the people that put the food on our plates are just as important as the people that lease vehicles.
Ling also makes a rather off the cuff comment stating how she gets shouted at a lot by cyclists whilst on the road driving. This lead to one of the more important posts in this whole long thread. A member points out that her style of driving hinted at in her post can lead to life changing injuries, for riders the including the actual responding poster. Virtually no fellow forum member even picks up on this post. Ling certainly didn’t, she just carried on as normal throwing “facts” out blunderbuss style about the OP and the lease. Seeing this post ignored on STW of all places was pretty saddening for me. If she had just posted a quick reply to even say her post was meant as a pure joke and didn’t want to cause offence I would have had a LOT more respect for her at this point. That however is not her style.
Later in the thread fortunes atart to turn against Ling as one or two Solicitors on here actually see the documents involved and start to point to the fact that Ling is on very, very dodgy ground asking her customers to pay £300 in punitive charges as it goes contrary to the cooling off period buyers are allowed in law. Ling does the usual, spouts off irrelevant “facts” and ignores the legal points made. See where we are going here?
At some point after seeing the actual facts of the thread are beginning to make it look like she is telling some real big, sticky green untruths she heads off to the her FB page bubble where she can control the conversation and just continue the verbal assault on the OP… without actually coming up with any real answers or proof to support what she is saying.
Hardly worth posting about the unrestricted E Bikes Ling has posted about as its obvious that on this forum normal STW values and concerns just dont apply… its also the very LEAST of my concerns about Ling and her whole self promotional world view. Facts and the law be damned no doubt!
The OP has shown pretty remarkable resolve in all this, being amazingly calm under such personal attacks both from Ling and particularly from one other member on here who had his post removed. It was only after that post that the OP finally lost it a little and fought pack against the direct attack made against him. Even then it was far less vitriolic than the removed post.
OP, its doubtful that you’ll get your day in court as I cant see Ling do so under any other pretence than bad publicity is still good publicity. We shall see.
That said, with all the talk of ethics, morality and just childish name calling I want to congratulate the OP for in the main staying focused, arguing against utter fabrication with fact and also one last point…… very ethically and morally standing up to a business owner that might have gained many more thousands in the future by breaking the law regarding cooling off periods.
If this thread stops just one person in the future getting taken for a ride it has served its purpose.
Wont be back on here till the OP can summarise the court action or more likely says there is to be no action.
The rest is just wadding and bluster.

I’ll happily admit it’s been worth the whole £15 annual subscription.

I was going to leave this alone but seems you decided to ignore my post proving you wrong on this, where I even included the URL of the post you didn’t like (on the OP’s behalf).
I stand by everything I said, and I’m definitely not someone to go removing posts out of fear it’s offended someone. I post calmly, clinically and factually – emotionally led posts and responses are a sign of poor emotional self regulation, which is something I abhor in real life and online.
If you search back using the search term I made available last time I rebutted your accusation of a post removal, you should still find it.
Hope that helps
andyrmFree MemberStu – I’d walked away having said all that needed to be said, but sadly if Poopscoop wants to make a factually incorrect statement, it’s getting called out. Even more so when in the PM he sent me following the accusation of removing the post he didn’t like he said “if I’m wrong I’ll unreservedly apologise”.
I proved him to be wrong at the time but that fact was sadly overlooked.
If he’s going to be someone’s guardian he needs to be sure he’s not dropping the ball. The devil’s in the detail as they say.
bearnecessitiesFull MemberWhilst this is all quite fabulous, I’m drawn to think about the parallels with the trousertown thread that got nuked pretty sharpish, with justifications of law stuff etc, which didn’t contain anywhere near the level of eye-scratching and defamatory comments that this belter has.

I doubt Ling is a friend of the owners though.

Actually, plenty of people are led by emotion. They’re just different from you. Bit harsh to abhor them for their natural response.

should have stayed there.

Wasn’t sure if this was serious or not. But it made me laugh anyway 😆

From my PM to andy:- My rather harsh comment on you was based pretty much on just one post where amongst other things you called the op a ”XXXX XXXX”. EDIT:(X’ed out by me- Poopscoop.
All I know is after that the op understandably lost his composure. A minimum of 3 people reported it,I know that for a fact.
If I’ve made a mistake here I will unreservedly apologise.
My apology was quite clearly intended if I was incorrect and you HADNT beem the poster using the bilious description intended for the op. Turned out you had.
After I jogged your memory as you did remember the post initially, or the comment and basically said its just every day language that you use.
Nice. Very nice.. Oh, just to be clear I “XXXX XXXX”ed the comment above, its not language I use every day even if andy does…
I do fully agree that I thought the post made had been removed. My error, absolutely. The sad thing is, you did make the post I referenced.
I dont see that sort of personal attack and language as very moralistic or ethical andy? Not very clinical of you…
Im amazed you’ve managed not to start using the “colourful” language you like so much on me. Yet.
Hope the above helps andy.
Please keep your comments clinical and factual, no potty mouth episodes again I hope.

Or maybe you’re just a Terminator, Vulcan or Sociopath?
Emotional self regulation? Can I have a copy of your self help book please 🙄
Did you post that as a serious comment? Please say you did, just so I can laugh at it even more
salad_dodgerFull MemberYou’ve really not grasped the art of the flounce have you Poopscoop.
andyrmFree MemberGMP – probably Vulcan 😆
In all seriousness, it’s something I guess I self taught during a tough time in my much younger years – contain the emotional responses until an appropriate time then have a better outlet, such as going for a ride or a run.
mashiehoodFree MemberFolks a quick question – is it normal to pay a fee of circa 300 + 100 firvfinance docs (refunded)? I’m just looking st leading and these are the fees being quoted….
Tiger6791Full MemberIt’s not people – it’s the not learning to regulate
……I keep forgettin we’re not in love anymore. I keep forgettin things will never be the same again. I keep forgettin how you made that so clear.JamieFree MemberIt’s a pointless pissing contest with no winners.
Unless you like getting pissed on.
Then it’s great!
