    Turbo trainer? Flat pedal for the cast and SPD on the good side. Dull, but it worked for me in that situation – and stopped me losing the plot through lack of exercise.

    Climbing worked well for me when I busted mine. Very low level traversing back and forth across the local wall, builds great stamina as well as core.

    Mine ached like **** every time I stood (or even sat)up, all I could do was lay around with my foot up for six weeks
