I hate this Fort Bill thing – it's Fort William, mmm'K?

    And I'm not even Scotch!

I have more important things to worry about.

Such as what Joe Kennedy of Pennsylvania is having for his tea.

Fort Bill never really bothers me but it does seem a bit pointless now you mention it.

You parents would probably rather you called yourself Richard instead of Rickos, but they don't give you a hard time about it.

    😉

Hate is a bit strong surely, I mean there’s so many more worthwhile candidates for you to focus your Hatred on…
Gingers for instance, they’re everywhere now even on the telly!

Fort Billiam amuses me. Do people use Bill as they can't spell William?

Cheers Teej – we can be grumpy old men together.

Is it not that calling it Fort Bill instead of Fort William much the same as Scotch instead of Scottish or am I being pedantic? 😉

"Fort Bill" sounds a bit shit "Fort William" does sound a bit more grandiose.

In that case, Fort Bill it is- there's nothing grandiose about the place.

    True.

Fort William is in a fantastic location but it's not the nicest of towns (not that it's all that bad either) – same with Aviemore.

I was born in Fort William and grew up in Spean Bridge.

I'm squarely in the "grumpy old men" camp on this one…

    FB makes me cringe.

I always thought that Fort Bill sounded Americanised.

Im heading up tomorrow and really looking forward to it, that said the term "An ugly baby in a beautifull cradle" was never so apt. For such a stunning location it has shite chip shops and restaraunts also the licensing laws are archaic. At least Aviemore is better for a drinking session.

I think DICK is short for Richard isn't it ?

Fort Bill sounds too American but Fort Billiam and the Fo Bizzle just make me smile a lot.

By the way big man scotch is a drink or an egg type thing coated in a meat wrapper and then rolled in someones dandruff is it not, just the type of mouthwatering treat us Scots love…..but battered and deep fried first of course!

All we need to remember is that the UCI race weekend in Fort William is one of the finest around nuff said. Bring on the sun for the weekend please.

Never liked Fort Bill, usually just call it the Fort or home, always prefered the name Maryburgh, Fort William always reminds me of the fact that is was a fort built to oppress the locals at the time,
