If you’re happy with a B+B rather than a hotel, Heulwen guest house is excellent. Also stayed at the Merionydd in the centre of dolgellau many years back, under new management now so no more Basil Fawlty-esque moments, but every wall, floor and door at some crazy angle has to be experienced to be believed.

Avoid Dolmellyn Hall at all costs. Shame as it’s only a few mins ride from the trails.

out of town and a great location – stayed here a couple of years ago with a group of friends – good enough rooms, good beer and cooking, friendly – think had a container or big garage to lock bikes in

The Royal Ship, or just the Ship is a hotel in the town, ive stayed there lots of times, bnb is ok but i wouldnt eat there in the evening tho, its reasonably priced and i often get a room at short notice.

We always use Torret Walk bunkhouse which is on the outskirts of town – is a great value at £10 each a night.
They also have a B&B and a campsite too

Steer clear of the Tyn-Y-Groes too, noisy, tatty, uncomfortable beds, crap showers and quite possibly the most rude\abrupt landlady I have ever met. YMMV of course, just a friendly warning.

tragically1969, I have to disagree. Have always been very well looked at the Tyn y Groes. I’m welcomed with a hug these days, which is nice! In fact, I can’t see any of what you say as being correct! OK, so it’s not luxury, but it’s great for what I want in a bike weekend hotel!

Used to use the Ty’n-y-Groes too, no real problems other than noise (traffic and people) either, just found Heulwen’s far nicer, and cheaper too.

I must have higher standards than you, but having money demanded off us for the rooms before we even put our bags down, grubby bathrooms, crap showers and knackered beds was enough to make me not want to go back again, sorry if you dont agree, personal preferences and all that….
