Mate is prob going to buy one and I was wondering if the the time between bearing changes are any different to std ProII's? I have not had an issues with my pro II's over the last 6 years but then I don't use a jet wash?

I've only had mine a week so it's kind of hard to give a long term review

As said above,i think it is a little early to comment on bearing wear etc.I have had mine since they were released,no problems with them at all.

They should be a better bet in terms of longevity thanks to stainless steel bearings... I've just bought a new Evo rear hub and all I can tell you so far is that it's blue, clicks a lot and is a whole lot better constructed than the Hope Bulb it replaced.
I've had mixed results with Hope hubs. My Bulb rear hub went floppy every six months and just ate bearings. The front has been totally well behaved though. I've run a set of ProIIs on my other bike for a year now and they've been faultless.

+1 on the mixed results. Pro2 fronts have been generally fine but rears are a mixed bag. Good on paper but some munch their bearings in reality far too easily.

Longevity wise the ratchet is the same as the old one so we know thats good (now... with the new springs). The big difference is the bearing size in the freehub body which allows for a stronger "non stepped" axle - particularly important if you wish to run it with a 12mm axle (like me).
I had no issue with the older bearings so I expect the new ones to be fine. It was the axles I broke... 5 last year!!! I'm expecting that problem to have gone away with the EVO fix so here's to no more broken Hope axles for me

Do you have a front as well as a rear?
Do you know if the standard Pro 2 adapters fit the Pro 2 Evo?

No problems so far in a few weeks of Alpine guiding! Had similar problems to Messiah with the old Pro2 rear axle and again, no problems there so far.

I don't think the front hub has changed apart from the bearings now being stainless, they look the same. I would give Hope a call and check with them.

Cheers for the speedy reply. They seem to have the same part numbers in the exploded views so i'm presuming they are the same but will check with them before i buy.

Oh yeah...I forgot to mention axles.
My Bulb was converted to 12mm eighteen months ago and I managed to break the axle twice. Second time around I broke the axle into three pieces (whilst riding over London Bridge. Gnar!) and in doing so the freehub lunched the ratchet. Hope were really good about it and sold me a new Evo at a substantial discount.
The ProII on my Enduro is a regular QR and as such has been absolutely fine.
I received the Evo three weeks ago and put it on my kitchen scales just out of interest. Mine (with a 12mm axle) is 311g, slightly over the 280g quoted by Hope but it's small beans really as it's destined for my AM bike. Otherwise, the freehub feels like a (noisy) Swiss watch, I'm very pleased with it.
If it lunches bearings within six months, the STW massive will be the second people to know - after Hope of course.
