Want some ideas for pictures to put up on the walls, to replace the *ahem* not so politically correct posters that my housemate favours*

*it’s like living in an A&A thread round here. LOL

Dali – Portrait of my dead brother

probably the most surprising painting I’ve ever seen in real life

Giger was responsible for the main alien design in the alien films I believe

    Mark Demsteader:

First saw his stuff when I lived in Sarf Landon. Just waiting until I have 1) a house worth putting some of his work up in, and 2) enough money to actually buy some of his stuff.

The death of Sardanapalus. The emperor who doesn’t give a **** as his dynasty crumbles and his servants take their own lives.

Dunno if movie art floats your boat. If it does, and you prefer them with a twist, have a look at these Polish interpretations of classic movies:

    Polish Movie Posters.

Excellent excellent excellent. I approve immensely.

Emsz; please make this a regular thread. Not on a Tuesday though cos it’ll clash with my Architectural Appreciation thread, but how about a Thursday? Maybe. Or a Friday? Replace the tired boring thread that ran out of steam some time ago. Yes; the new Friday A+A! 🙂

‘Emsz’ Friday Art Appreciation Thread’- each week could have different themes like the architecture one.

A picture I saw in the National Gallery in Oslo, by an artist called Erik Werenskiold.

The pic doesn’t do it justice. I found it really moving, dunno why at all. I think it’s cos it’s just so human and real, just doesn’t seem contrived in any way. It’s just like a candid photograph, but it’s a painting. Amazing. I like it anyway.
