Hamsterley is my “local” trail centre. I believe that the xc routes are worth the effort. There is along fire road climb half way through the red route, but the run down, is, I think worth the effort.
The black route is a bit more technically challenging, but again, I reckon the final “run in” is worth the effort.
Depends what you want from a day, I guess.
    How far are you travelling?

i did the black for the first time in years a few weeks ago – had a good day, the new stuff like section 13 is great too. seems to be plenty of new dh trails built since i used to ride dh there around 7 years ago – i didn’t have time to ride any but will be going back with my asx soon 🙂 you’ll have plenty to have a go at i reckon

If you need a guide for the xc I am off monday and would be happy to show you my way of joining the red/black/offpiste bits together – any excuse to go riding!
