Ahoy hoy!
having been on my first tour, and splurged too much on a nice sleeping bag, i WAS going to look into bivvying, however part of me is still convinced that a hammock setup would be LOADS better, if only be it more fun 
a little search on here indicates there are some people around who do hammock up from time to time.
please show me your "rigs" if you do!

the only downside i can think of is if your chums are inclined to bivvy, they wouldnt appreciate sleeping on tree roots, so may abandon you for less fun sleeping terrain... pussies
