Is it a knock-off of Facebook, or a revolutionary new means of interacting that will change my life(*) ?

    (*) if I had one …

Its supposedly Facebook without facebook’s flaws – better controls over privacy and security and better organising of the people you know – so that you can separate conversations you want to have in front of your workmates from conversation you want to have in front of your mates down the pub and keep both those separate from conversations you want to have in front of your mum.

And a whole lot of other stuff which on the face of things sounds fruitless – like being able to share search results with people – wtf is that about?

It won’t change your life unless facebook did

Thats a freeking great point! one of the things about Wave that was fantastic.

Something we’ve been calling for a long time in academic circles. You have a group of PhD researchers, all working in the same area, all collating information, all doing the same types of searches.

If you have the ability to cut down the number of false result returns it becomes easier to find the info you want. If you can cut this further by returning similar returns from other researchers, it gets better.

Now….bit biased as people in the extended research cluster Im in (computer nerds, im a sports physiologist) have developed the system…. called HeyStacks back in the days before they bought it…they = Google.
