    One thing that I found rather fun whilst playing on Macs, was Garageband.

    Is there anything similar for PC?

    Would mainly be for fun having some musical knowledge and having played in a band years ago.

    However, if I was able to come up with some reasonable output, it could be used by my wife who is a dance teacher.

    Try the hackintosh route? Rather extreme I know…

    GarageBand happily works here…
