I’ve currently got a Joplin 3 and it’s be perfectly fine, but I’ve got a bit of spare cash floating about and I’m considering replacing it.

The Joplin can go onto my 29’er HT; the obvious choice is a Reverb, but is it really worth it over the Pure Racing i900 or i950.

    I’ve found:
The single bolt Pure Racing one for 159euro

The new twin bolt version for 209 euro

    2012 MMX Reverb for 239euro

Which one would you personally go for, and no smart answers which either mention or include an image of a QR please.

Wife just got me a reverb and Ive got to say its great.

    She ordered me

which is the same as the one you have linked too with 2012 internals and a silver collar just 30 euros cheaper. Just dont forget to buy a bleed kit. 😉

I think so, yes (owned 2x i900 before reverb)

    Is a bleed kit essential?

Going by the picture it’s not….2012 has black collar.

Is that an issue, it being the 2011 model?

The robustness of the hydraulic connection at the post has been improved, I’m led to believe. Not a big issue.

I’ve got an older model reverb and its been fine. My housemate has an older one that had the hose ripped out of it which he’s now upgraded with the new connections. Basically the old one was a brake hose style barb, the new one screws into the bottom of the clamp.

They come with a bleed kit already – well, mine did

    Apparently the on-one one doesn’t

They do say they’ll honour any warranty issues though

Yes the Reverb is worth it over the KS (had both, only have one of them now!)

My choice would be the Reverb – see above. Different class to the KS or the Joplin 4 that I’ve previously run.

If you have to send it back to Germany are there any issues with that?
