Indeed. It's doing the exact opposite. It's standing up in public and saying "hey, it's ok to laugh at people because they are in some way not of their own choosing different to you". And it's not. It's that simple. Using other people's attributes to convey another point is something quite different to simply treating others as objects of ridicule and portraying that as a socially acceptable activity, the basis of a career even.
