Noticed yesterday the glass on the inner pane of double glazing in our front bedroom is covered by little marks.
On closer examination they seem to be small little ‘pitting’ marks, about the size and shape of a childs fingernail, as if they had been tapping at the glass and managed to actually scratch the glass
They all ‘point’ downwards and vary in size from a couple mm to about 7mm, some you can feel like a chip, some still feel smooth
There is loads of them all over the big pane and a few on the side and top windows (its a bay)
Although we have had net curtains up until recently Im sure they wernt there until this weekend and maybe the hot couple of days
Anyone any ideas? Does the window need replacing? They look quite obvious once pointed out but cosmeticaly doesnt bother me as its only the spare room so if its not a problem it can wait until more urgent things are paid for but I wouldnt fancy the idea of a window breaking!

    On the inside pane!!!! 😯

Has someone been locked in that room in the past? Scratching at the glass in a desperate bid to escape! 😯

    How old is the house?

Do you have any holy water?

    Flee, while you still can!!!!

windows where replaced by previous owners, probably about 15-18 years old now, knowing previous owners probably cheapest of the cheap at the time!
No sparrows, no kids or anything else trapped in the room!
Tried to take a pic but they dont really show up very well, just looks like we need to clean the windows 😉

Spiders with tiny pick axes trying to break out,due to the build up of dead body parts under the floors and in the airing cupboard.

If they’re that old they’re well out of any form of warranty (usually ten years on sealed units). You can just get the glass replaced but with windows that old the frames are probably poor as well. Modern windows are way more heat efficient than they were in the mid 90s.

Not heard about the pitting issue before, I’ll ask at work tomorrow.
