Thats been in some sort of clamp- definitely a crack seeing the grip-indentations around it.

id’ have a go with some wet and dry to confirm it’s not just paint but the clamp marks woudl support the crack theory.

Do you use Allen keys with 6ft handles on them?

is the tube externally butted too?

I’d say that’s a crack in the PAINT caused by a tight clamp ( fnarr fnarr)
I’d rub the paint off and have a look, or mark the ends and see if it spreads first

I’ll go against the flow and say the metal is OK though 🙂

    Crack.

Someone’s been over clamping their front mech on their Planet X SL Pro, haven’t they?

Id go with overtightened front mech clamp and probably a crack. Sorry. Still its a thinner bit in the middle of the tube, not massivly stressed, so it can probably be welded up without too much fuss.

Also, does the tube change to a narrower diameter just below the clamp?

If I’m right the frame is carbon, should be easy to get it repaired.

Try a magnifying glass. I used one on a suspect mark to determine if it was a crack. It was 🙁
