I am looking for some advice on a childeat for the back of my GFs bike. I was going to buy a Co-Pilot Limo but checked her frame and it has no rack mounts. I have seen seats that have a bracket that mounts on the seat tube but cannot remember who they are made by or know if they are any good. Anyone using one? Good or bad experiences? Any alternatives or ideas from the STW collective? Thank you.

P-clips. I just bought a Blackburn rack that you'd get free if you bought a Copilot Limo and it came with P-clips in the packet.
Hamax make the other kind that mount on the seat tube.
PS - not sure how much weight I'd put on a P-clip. The Tubus Clamp Set might be worth a look.

I would prefer to by something designed for the job rather than use p-clips. They are probably fine but they always look a bit flimsy. Also she has a Genesis Core with quite think shaped stays so I am not sure if p-clips would actually fit.

I've got a Hamax smiley that cost about fifty quid and has lasted for years. Great because you can demount it, leave it at the nursery and go on to work sans rattle/weight. Mounts on the seat tube.

Hamax mount to the seat tube. You do have to be careful not to bend/dent it though. Ideally you need seatpost at the point where it clamps to add strength.

I used Hamax sleepy recliners on my Specialised Stumpjumper with no problems at all. Now that my kids are above the 22kg weight limit I have two of them for sale actually. £20 each. Prefer delivery/collection but could find out about postage. One is navy blue and the other (a bit older) is royal blue. Both excellent condition as only used infrequently.

does it have to be a rear mounted seat? If not check out http://www.weeride.com , we used one for our son up to him being 3 1/2 when he got too big for it.
