Hi, i've got a few 18650 batteries that are running low and need charging. just wondered what the best way of doing it was.

Run till empty then charge or constant / frequent top up?

    cheers

    There Li-ion aren't they?
Apparently Li-ion prefer to be kept topped up, so just charge the buggers.

I've no idea what they are made of. I figured it couldn't hurt however I charged them but at over a fiver each I'd quite fancy keeping them in tip top condition

    Best kept approx 50% charged.

Although they're not being used they will continue to drain through there protection circuit. This may only be a few milliamps but over time this will drain to below the protection circuit lower limit and may make the cells unrecoverable.

Thanks for that though I have no way of knowing when they are at 50% with this charger
