Thinking of making a trip over tomorrow, how’s it looking?

Will be my first time over there, where’s the best place to head?

    TIA

If you want a cuppa after riding then Birches Valley car park is place to go park and pick up the start of the way marked trails (follow the dog and monkey trail). If you want to just ride and explore there are trails all over the Chase, the southern side normally is a little bit muddier after all the rain that we have had but the trails up round the northern side of the Chase (Brockton Coppice etc) tend to drain that bit better.
As for the waymarked trails they were in need of some repair last time I rode them- Best advice is to visit ChaseTrails for up to date weather/closures etc.
Unless someone that rode there today comes along soon….

Rode there today, pretty dry…in actual fact it was dusty at times on the way marked stuff that we rode, cheeky stuff was drying out a fair bit as well.If you don’t know the area Birches is probably the best place for you to start/finish…

Rode there last weekend and it was very dry quite surprising – complete contast to Forest of Dean this week which was damp squirmy and lots of puddles finished the ride soaked. Amazing difference between similar forest locations.
The newer rocky black sections on the second Monkey Trail loop (on the LHS) are very challenging not helped by slow approach speed whilst turning in, however thats part of the fun.
