As everyone else in the house had to be up really early catching flights or going places I decided to head out as well and treat myself to a cooked breakfast up in the Pentlands. An army ration pack was raided for a bacon, omlette and beans boil-in-the-bag meal and a pack of hot-chocolate (army ration pack hot chocolate is the best there is IMHO) and then thrown into my rucksack along with my Jetboil. I headed uphill and stopped at the Maidens Cleugh pass to enjoy the morning and eat:

One reason for picking Maidens Cleugh is that it's only about 3 or 4 miles to my office from there and the route is mostly off-road and includes over 800ft of descent. Nice way to start the day...
