Blackspire stinger with square taper?

Does this work ok? Blackspire just say they don't recommend it.

Since I don't have a spacer to remove could I just use a shorter bottom bracket to keep the chainline? There is plenty of clearance on the left hand crank before the chainstay so a bit of a shift won't matter.

If you have 68mm BB shell, you can run an E type BB, I.e a BB that allows a BB mounted front mech. But instead of the front mech bracket use the space for the stinger.
