Been a couple of times with kids, wife, and been on bike racing trips.
It's .........okay........... Nice to look at, touristy in the touristy bits, lace, chocolate etc.
But I found it a bit dull really, much prefer Gent, which has the same historical stuff but is a proper city with much more to offer in terms of shopping, sights, atmosphere, restaurants.

Mrs Flash is sat next to me:
Den Dyver to eat, most of the food is made using Belgium Beer, with beer pairings.
Any bar
The Half Moon brewery, nice for food(lunch) and beer
Any bar
Livia's luxury b&b
Any bar
Watch "In Brugess" before you go for ideas
Try and find La Garre bar

I have visited Belgium twice, once for the Gent Six Days and once for the RvV.
On both occasions, we were late for the ferry and the most I have seen of Bruges is riding round the ring road.
I'm riding the RvV (sportive) again this year, though Mrs North isn't able to go (preggers, too ill), so I shall be enjoying its delights on my tod....
