    Whereas 30 yrs ago knife crime was far higher than it is now. Where I grew up was far more dangerous than it is now. ( Glasgow)

    Its not that crime has increased its that fear of crime has increased. Seriously perhaps it was safer in the 50s but life is safer now than ever for most people. Look at murder rates which cannot be fudged.
