Hi, building a bike up for the first time, have sourced frame and most parts but a bit stuck on the wheels. Budget is around the £300 mark and I obviously want the lightest toughest best value there is.

I will mainly ride xc and a few trails, unlikely to hit any big drops or jumps owing to my age and many years out of the saddle but want something that will be able to cope should I get brave. I have pretty much decided on 150mm travel 15mm axle rockshox revelations as they seem best value so 15mm compatible required.

Any experts out there seen any great deals?

    Thanks.

Got to be Hope Hoops really for that budget (and can be found cheaper). Stans Flow (wide and tough) or Crest (narrower, but still plump up tyres well and very light and surprisingly tough) rims would both be fine and give you the option of easy tubeless should you want.

Gone for crest on pro 3 hubs but could not find below £300. Came in at £320 from Merlin with their current 10% off. Thanks for the advice.
