In a release from Crelan-Vastgoedservice, the Belgian star then said: “”I’m enjoying myself with the team and I definitely do not intend to say goodbye cyclocross anytime soon.”
“There were also few stumbling blocks during the negotiations. I am particularly pleased that discussions around his before the Belgian Championships Sunday. Also, the sponsors Crelan and Vastgoedservice provide me with some extra confidence.”

Van Aert recently beat Tony Martin in the prologue of the Baloise Belgium Tour, and photos from earlier in the season showing Van Aert training with Etixx-Quick Step before Milan-Sanremo, sparked rumours surrounding a possible switch to a World Tour team. However, it doesn’t seem like the 21-year-old will make the transition quite yet with this new deal.
The Belgian star had a strong 2015/16 season winning the World Championships, Belgian Championship and the first round of the World Cup in Las Vegas.
Van Aert will now link back up with his teammates for Sunday’s Belgian National Road Championships and continue his season on the road.
