Shimano’s 105 groupset has been the workhorse, every-mans stalwart for many, many years.
Two years after any technology is launched for Dura Ace, you can be pretty sure it has trickled down to 105 – so we’ve got a 5800, 11 speed 105 groupset to screw onto a frameset. We’ll be treating it badly, and probably not cleaning it as often as is best, but it should give us a very good idea of how well its going to perform after a few years…
