I bought a soldering iron from Amazon – cheap but it had a tip that accomodated a craft blade so could be used as a hot knife. Also got a butane dremel but the knife attachment is not really a knife and relies on heat to cut/melt.
However the iron delivered is marked as 110V and has a US plug, even though the Amazon description says 220V and the packaging also says 220V.
I sent a message to the seller pointing out that it was the wrong voltage and they have replied :
“… Is it convenience for you to take a picture of it and send to me? I will check on my side who packed wrong and punish him for his carelessness. This way not to make same mistake again in the future.
Thanks for your cooperation. Please do not worry. I promise to give you good solution and won’t let you down.”
Being that it is from China, and their human rights record is not that great and many of their factories have nets outside the windows to catch jumpers, should I risk sending some photos back?
I’ve ordered another soldering iron that the tip might fit so I don’t have to reply and then be haunted by what might have happened to the packer?
Is this a new way of quashing customer complaints?
