It was the CGI that really ruined the latest Indy movie for me. ROTA looks significantly better despite coming out 42 years ago.

Anyone can make a bad film with bad actors, no talent and no money. It takes a special talent to create a film soo bad with good actors and a seemingly bottomless bag of money.  That film is AI. The worst bit is the endless false ends to the film. They make you think ‘thank heavens that’s finished, and then…’. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0212720/

@nickc There was a massive puff-piece in Empire for Rebel Moon and it looked OK…

Sadly i think the last two Indy films were really not needed and just gave us a sad ending to Indy’s life.

I don’t think I can bring myself to watch Dial of Destiny based on how appalling Crystal Skull was.
Indiana Jones finished with Last Crusade.

That’s why it had the word LAST in it.

Can I suggest that everyone avoids Silent Night, it is unremitting rubbish.

Dial of Destiny was better than Crystal Skull…Crystal Skull had a level if unplug brain and then it went even further (was an ok Indiana Jones film up until the last half hour and the spaceship mince – everything else was standard Indiana Jones levels of daftness)…Dial of Destiny seems to have a consistent level of unbelievableism which made it better.

Saying that, neither are top 10 films…

Rebel Moon is bad. There’s a film in there somewhere and not necessarily a good one. Usual Snyder affair of too much slow motion and shots designed to look good in a trailer. I can’t understand how film studios still give him money. Copying Star Wars and The Seven Samurai should result in a film that’s at least watchable and makes some sense.

Crystal Skull is rubbish but I’ve never understood the aliens being the bad bit. Raiders had holy face melting ghosts and Last Crusade has an immortal knight living in a cave. If anything more unbelievable than aliens.

Can I add candy cane lane to this roll call of utter toss? Bloody glad we didn’t pay out to watch at the cinema 😱

@mattyfez – if you don’t already, you should listen to “How Did This Get Made” podcast

Or the “For your reconsideration” podcast, which is better as they’re Brits (well, Northerners)

Anything with Steven Seagal or Jean-Claude Van Damme in it.

That would put Under Seige in a worst film list!?!

highbrow it ain’t but it’s a great brain out action film, plus has Tommy Lee Jones in a briliantly knowing, scenery chewing performance.

Having just watched the new Animated Mario Bros film, I’m re watching the 1995 live action version.

    It’s gloriously awful.

I pride myself on finding and watching the worst movies ever.

I got this from the library the other day. I think you’ll like it.

Watched the new Indiana Jones film yesterday, it’s not as terrible as it was being made out to be

Odd, I’d heard the opposite, that it was a return to form after Crystal Skull.

never saw any ‘wokeness’ that was being talked about

    Oh, that’s disappointing.

My SIL is a connoisseur of Christmas film barrel scrapings and even she thought it was a pile of steaming goat ****.

@ratherbeintobago, give it a watch. I’m not a fan of Empire reviews much as it happens, they’re a bit too keen to give anything remotely “SciFi adjacent” a good score JIC. As the Funkmaster points out, it really should be solid, Star wars meets revenge movie; but’s just awful, bad acting, terrible overuse of slow-mo, (someone wrestle that function away from Zack, for the love of god) it just makes watching it feel even stronger like your life is draining away before your eyes..

How to spend millions and waste it.

I have tried to watch rebel moon 3 times now, haven’t made it past the 20 minute mark. It is generic, cliched and has terrible dialogue. They don’t seem to have spent any of the budget on writers. It is like one of those studios who used top make cheap knock of versions of big films with similar titles accidentally gave one of their directors 10x the normal budget. It is basically mid afternoon filler material for the scifi channel.

But is isn’t close to being “worst film” which should keep you entranced by its awfulness, it should make you feel used and dirty, you know you should look away but you can’t help keep watching, it should make you question your life choices and why you didn’t just stop **** watching. Whereas with rebel moon, it is quite easy to just go and make a cup of tea and and then stare out of the windows for a couple hours instead knowing that this is a better use of your time.

Zac Synder is fast become the new Michael Bay, with Bay its revolving camera shots and upskirts, with Synder its slow motion. Rebel Moon is just a Sci-Fi version of Six Underground.

Zac Snyder is long past that stage. I’ll hazard a guess that there’s a girl in Rebel Moon with a tragic back story who has been raped or otherwise abused by the antagonist.

Watch Men was an overly long filler fest of ZS tropes.

    Sucker Punch was the same.

    Why would he change now?

If no one has mentioned it already (I may have even mentioned it myself and then erased the memory on purpose) Bruce Willis in 10 Minutes Gone was probably THE worst film we’ve watched in modern times!

    The plot, the acting…. painful.

Any time Snyder gets full control of a film (directs, writes and produces), it’s a recipe for disaster, Watchmen was decent because he just directed it, and used the comic book as the storyboard for the filming, 300 again was just the right place, right time kind of movies, so he got away with the way that was done and Man of Steel again was him just directing.

The movies he’s had full control, well Sucker Punch, Army of the Dead and now Rebel Moon, he just doesn’t do well when he writes movies he directs!

I’d strongly urge eveyone to watch ‘Zombeavers’, although, strictly speaking it falls into the parody/so-bad-it’s good catagory… especially the out-takes at the end.

Theres one particular scene where they throw a little dog into the water as a decoy, so they can swim away safely from the zombie-beaver(s)

But they couldn’t get the dog to stop playing in the water with what is clearly a radio controlled speedboat model with a faux beaver fur pelt, draped on top of it!

TBH I have a feeling he was doing a fair few of his last films by having his lines read to to him.

It’s all a bit sad to see him go out this way, considering how many good films he’s been in.

He was. He did a ton of films. Couple of million dollars per film for about 20 minutes work. He was noticeably struggling on set.

There’s a lot of hate for The Hobbit (x3) but they’re actually not bad films.  Sure they’re a bit thin at times, but there’s some seriously good bits, good acting, tremendous visuals and some great music.

I watch them most most Christmas’ and New Year whilst cooking.

Worst film ever?  Green Lantern without a shadow of a doubt.

The hobbit needs a directors cut that is only one movie long. He’s allowed three hours total run time, but that’s it
