From around the turn of the century.

It was used in different situations but it was something like, “See what man over there?” (Character points at ugly bloke or something), “that’s for that is, your look liked that.”

Sorry, not much to go on! Harry Enfield perhaps?

A bit of Lee and Herring I think.
If not, it was Newman and Baddiel (sp?)

You see that old man over there, his brow all furrowed like a field ploughed through with manure while struggling to recollect something from his past?

A partner at the time, just been friends for eons now, used to use it all the time on each other and mutual friends and family. We used to be in tears of laughter. Simpler times.Lol

Ive decided to resurrect it and just WhatsApped her this pic with the comment “Louise*, see that overflowing bin?”…to set the trap. Her memory is as bad as mine so I’m waiting for the inevitable, “what?” before I pounce!😁

The TV show is hard to come by aside from YouTube clips, but I have a collection of the radio show should anyone care to hold an offline backup for me.

The best one was where one of them did a long, professional introduction to the intended topic of their discussion and the other one just replied straight away

“You know that Thora Hird? That’s your bird that is. You love her”

It was Hugh Dennis on the same show IIRC.

Hopefully she remembers after she reads the punchline or it could make for a fairly awkward exchange of messages 🤣

I got my mate’s son a corker when this was doing the rounds:

We were walking through the woods…

“You see that tree over there…?”

    “Yes…?”

    “That’s yew, that is!”

    (And it was 🙂 )

There’s a version (haven’t looked at the vids, may be in there) where in response to a description one of them just goes ‘pah, pah, pah, pah, pah, pah, pah………that’s how you talk, that is’

Whenever I go off on a description, that may be detailed and technical apparently, my wife interrupts me with that. That’s not the notable bit – now my kids do the same and I reckon they’ve never seem the MWE or have any idea why they do it. It’s just what you do when Dad’s being boring again.

I’m pretty sure she’ll get it, she hasn’t seen the message yet though.

We got tired of our relationship before we got tired of the gag.😁

I’m yet to come up with the punch line, though I have a few ideas. 😉

It’s out there, been watching them all tonight. Lol

They did a couple of different takes on it in fact. 😁

It’s a fairly regular one in our household (well, car journeys anyway)
“See that clapped out caravan over there in the field? That’s your holiday home, that is”

There were a whole bunch going around, with things like “see that ….. over there? That’s your mum, that is!” Or bike, g/f, etc. Hours of gentle amusement were to be had. 😏

So she muted you off her socials about five years ago, and you haven’t realised yet?

Haha! Reminds me of me and my mate’s rides back in the day, we’d see an old broken down barn or shed and .. That’s your house that is! 😀

That’s your sofa. You love to sit there and watch TV.. 😀

From around the turn of the century.

    Ready to feel ancient?

    It was 1990 -1992, only 12 episodes?

The radio show started in 1989, 40-ish episodes over 4 series.

We saw Punt and Dennis live a couple of weeks back. For all the topical comedy, a random “milky, milky” still got the biggest cheer!

However, one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on TV was Hugh Dennis on “I’ve never watched Star Wars”. It turns out Mr Milky Milky is real… but prefers roadkill to old milk. There’s a “lovely” from each, and the blackbirds get me every time! (section split across 2 videos, sorry):

She did but I’m a little confused to say the least

She got the Mary Whitehouse reference… but somehow  thought it was a comment about cups or drinking containers or something.

She backed up the thought with these 2 pics so basically I have no idea what the hell is going on at the moment. I think I need to wait till we chat on the phone, this isn’t going to be resolved via a  WhatsApp  message I think. 🤔 😁

That’s ace.  How did that show pass me by?

Disappointed that the risotter wasn’t a tarka masala.
