Where should we get breakfast in Glossop on Sunday?

We’re doing a two day tour, staying overnight in Glossop on Saturday night.

Where does the hive mind think that we should go for breakfast on Sunday morning, ideally with a vegetarian option?

Some options below with opening times:

JDWetherspoons, Howard Town Shopping Park, Victoria St (08:00)

Glossop Cafeteria, Victoria St (07:30)

Greg’s, High St West (08:00)

Any you’d particularly recommend?

I used to live in Glossop and was just talking to a friend who still lives there. She recommended a place called Two Hares, which has a really good reputation locally:

Not sure it’s definitely on a Sunday, but worth a check. Edit: 10am – 4pm apparently, recommended by two local mates.

The other place, which is open on a Sunday, is the Pico Lounge – just opposite M&S behind the old mill in the centre of town. It’s a cavernous place, but does decent enough food, is dog and child friendly and a lot more pleasant than the likes of the stuff listed above, ime, ymmv etc.

There are also a bunch of places on the High Street and around Norfolk Square – there’s a Costa there if you like that sort of thing – but not sure what’s open and not. There was also quite a cool little caff up in Old Glossop called Shepleys, on Shepley Street, which was okay last time I was there a couple of years back, but again not sure on opening hours. Edit: not on a Sunday though.

Pico Lounge is nice enough … Wetherspoons is Wetherspoons so cheap, reasonable with the ambience of a collection of beer drinkers at too early o’clock.

I’ll add in Tesco Cafe and McDonalds as other price conscious offerings.

Have friends in Glossop and can second the recommendation of Two Hares.  Owners used to have very good restaurant that burnt down called Hyssop, and the Two Hares came out of that.

There’s a vegan friendly place off Norfolk Sq called Thrive.  The Garden centre cafe is much better than you’d think it would be.  Pico is good – it’s a small chain and probably will have a lot of kids there as it’s popular with families which may not be what you’re looking for.

Yeah, we’ve been into Thrive a couple of times (if that the one, appropriately, across from the health food shop), it’s nice
