^ re: the connectivity thing, I just got an adaptor to wire an input into the back of the car stereo (look at connects2 website). Loads better than the hit or miss of FM transmission.

Scandisk ones are good as well as walkman. Ipod nano if you can afford it and don't mind drm.

On a more helpful note (than my last post), I have an ipod classic as I wanted/needed the capacity. I also have a cheap iriver solid state one that I use when I go camping etc. I got to admit when I connect the iriver to my car stereo it sounds way better than the ipod despite it being about £100 cheaper. So I would recommend one of them.

Like Barry B. I have it hard-wired to the car stereo. Those FM things really are useless.

    Sony NWZ S639f – apparently.

Great reviews but has been replaced now. Get one while you can. Santa's bringing me one in a few weeks!

    cheers for your thoughts everyone!

Understand the FM issues, now to find out if I can hot-wire my car radio!

I had a little play with that Sony one in the shop the other day, nice.
