Mrs Sirromj needs flat pedals to replace the tiny small rubbish ones that her Liv bike came with. I don’t really know what’s appropriate! I have a pair of nylon Nukeproof pedals in the shed but the pins are OTT and the platform seems excessive. What’s more suitable please?

My wife likes these recently ordered more as spares, we did change the shafts to titanium as they did go a little rusty. You might find a UK seller but mrsfoo likes rainbow look.

Daughter has Nukeproof pedals she has removed some of the pins as they were ott for her size 5 shoes.

Interested in knowing what others use.

    We’ve got Nukeproof plastic platform.
They seem overkill, but they work.

Spotted a review of some DMR Flat4 pedals in the latest Cycling UK mag yesterday, they looked a great “all round” flat pedal to me, pins can be added/removed, reflectors always useful and make the bike legal at night, if that matters at all.

the Burgtec plastics are quite nice, a female friend of mine has those on her Rise and they don’t seem overkill for her foot size

Filing the pins down seems the cheapest way to fix it

Thanks will take a look at those.

Anyone tried the Raceface Ride pedals? They don’t have pins, what they have  instead are more like plastic studs. Can’t help thinking they’d be very slippery in the wet though.

I have RaceFace Chesters, like the Ride but real pins. Very impressed on the gravel bike. Wouldn’t hesitate to have them on MTB if I rode it theses days.

Re RaceFace Ride – one of our bikes came with a used, quite worn pair. Easily as bad as the generic cheap plastic pedals new bikes come with.

    How about a touring pedal?

If looking for a smaller platform Mrs unique has some nylon sdg pedals that seem pretty small to me. I’m not at home to gather more info on them though. They are blue, which was her deciding factor rather than size or grip ?

Yes. Ok with trainers that have decent tread to engage with the pedal pattern. No good with flat cycling shoes, even for leisure use. Your foot can slip off under power even in the dry but especially in the wet.
