…on slashed tyres, do I replace or just reseal ? Never had this problem before moving to Chilterns just had to content with Epping forest thorns etc. Had two (small) slashes from flint in 10 days one sealed with stans the other just wouldn’t have it.

Patch the inside of the tyre. For trailside repairs those Anchovies things are supposed to be pretty good, though I generally just take a tube.

I repaired the tread of a Rocket Ron with an anchovy in January last year, and it’s still going strong.

So give that a try, and if it seals ok then you should just be able to forget about it. Top up the sealant though.

I use to ride in the Chilterns – you need ‘stronger’ tyres.

For summer use I ran an Ardent front and a 2.35 Larsen rear. The Larsen seemed to not get caught on the flints, unlike other tyres with more tread.

anywhere rocky and you’re asking for trouble with Rons i’m afraid.

Try a snakeskin evo rock razor if it’s the rear and maybe a Nic up front. Rons are tissue paper thin 🙁

I thought I might escape without that one being pointed out to me 🙂

Anchovies are the rubbery bits you poke into the tyre, as found in a repair kit like this.

rocket rons, round here, rather you than me.

regards slashed tyres, either trailside repair with tubeless kit (as above) or at home repair, patch the inside and superglue the gash.

Dilemma is tyres for round here tyres for everywhere else. Ron that was cut other day was on the back of SS which has a NN up front, that can easily be changed as it was only on there coz it got a bit sloppy round Epping before I moved & didn’t wanna out a mud tyre on. The issue is up front on other bike which I race on ?

Chilterns too here, slashed tyres are a fact of life. Carry an opened-up toothpaste tube with you to seal severe slashings.

    Whereabouts are you?
