Ooh, last one I met up with a group of swimmers at the beach… swam and chatted, but I got cold cos I was the only one without one of those big warm changing blanky things, plus I’d ridden down there, so only had my riding gear to change into. Quite fancy doing that again, but being warmer and sitting about for longer.

Sounds pretty damned nice mate. Hope you get to do it again but stay a bit warmer. 👍

Done something to be up high every summer solstice since Ben Nevis in 2014. This year just across to Fife to do the Binn behind Burntisland and remember a pal.

A couple of years ago I had plans for a 100 mile ride, dusk til dawn, starting and finishing at a big stone circle not far from mine.

And then the weather was rubbish. ☹️

Not sure I fancy it on a weeknight where I have to work Thursday and Friday though…

Quite a few years ago I cycled the south peak loop overnight. Seemed like a good idea, but I missed out the sights, what with it being dark for most of it.

Probably nothing this year as I’m full of cold ATM, but will try and do something at the weekend.

I’ll hopefully be at the top of The Slab for sunset then ride back with the lights on. Love Gisburn for a cheeky nightride.

I’ll be catching up on my sleep and saving myself for RttS on Sat/Sun instead.

I bivvied on Ben Vrackie (near Pitlochry) last Summer Solstice. It was a very atmospheric sunrise.

I booked a Glentress weekender, especially due to it be the solstice. I think it’s important to be out as much as possible at this time of year. Going to do the Glentress black on Saturday and then Innerleithen Red on Sunday.

Heading to Galloway on Thursday to meet old friends and sink a few drinks – followed by three days of riding pedal bikes. 😎

The best solstice I’ve ever had was a post work ski on Bheinn Ghlas. The looks on other walkers faces coming down off the hill on a warm, sunny evening in t-shirts and shorts to meet a group of us carrying skis, boards and sledges up a hill….

Heading north to try and get 24 hour, round the clock skydiving in. If I am lucky, the plane will be fixed, otherwise I am going to hang out with some friends and take the road bike out.

I’m doing Brighton to Petersfield on the SDW. But at the weekend. And not the whole SDW. So, slightly half-hearted.

I’m planning on hopping on the train from Hove to Eastbourne, and riding back this saturday!

Will be on my unicor/purple ano Epic evo, so say “hi” if we cross paths!

None for the day itself. Our club is running a joint fundraising ride for Alzheimers on Sunday though, we usually do something the Solstice weekend.

Planning on doing a walk and wild camp. I always do something on solstice.  Last year I bivied on Snowdon, it was pretty busy.

Another one here, staying at an old pals near Carlisle and he’s under strict instructions not to suggest the malt whisky. What could go wrong 🤔

This is an anniversary best ignored, because it means the days are now getting shorter, which means we’re only weeks away from Sainsbury’s putting jars of luxury mince pie filling on the shelves

This is the typical crustyness that happens on our local moor at the Nine Ladies stone circle – no camping or fires allowed, but then bikes aren’t either and it’s one of my favourite local riding spots, so hey ho….

Not sure if we’ll go up for a look on Thursday or steer a wide berth

Friends coming over, a bonfire and home cooked / home grown food with cider from a local orchard – keeping the celebration wonderfully English and pagan!

Same as always, realise its midsummer and quietly mutter something about the days getting shorter to myself.

Going to a gig, and will be pleasantly surprised when it’s still light afterwards 🙂

Then like Dave, will remember that it is now going to get darker, earlier. 😕

Hopefully planning a ride/bivvy/ride somewhere in West Yorkshire. Location and type of ride/bike yet to be determined. Looks like there might only be 2 of us as several of our group have to get packed up / earn some domestic brownie points because they’re heading up to Golfie for the weekend …
