We had our Focus done earlier this year. 10 years old and about 60k on it. It was about £1200 including a full service. We plan to keep it a while yet and everything else on it seems pretty solid so worth spending out on.
I’m considering asking them about doing it. Not a main dealer anymore, used to be until Ford and Volvo decided they only wanted main dealers to trade on big business parks.
Yes I thought that!
CZ won’t be happy either as they both think the EcoSport is utter toss.
Who? I honestly couldn’t give a phũk what some random tosser with a podcast thinks! The entire motor industry is full of engines that have, at some point, shown to have an issue that ultimately someone’s found a solution to.
As far as I’m aware, 60k miles is when there’s a likelihood of a belt failing, mine’s on around 33k, so I’m fairly certain that after the next service it’s good for a fair time, I could probably get it changed at around 55k, but I’ll see in November what the service people say.
I honestly love the car, having driven a few hundred others, I can think of very few, if any, that I would swap it for; if the motor went south, I’d get a replacement motor fitted, I’m not planning on ever getting another car; if it lasts as well as my Octavia, which never had a service in the 15 years I had it, then it’s probably going to outlive me!
