I did a not clever thing, and went swimming wearing my Tag Heuer Formula 1 calibre 6 with the crown screwed out, and now it’s got all condensation in it.

I’ve left it with the crown still out in a Tupperware with dry rice for a week but it’s not made any difference, nor has putting it under a lamp.

If I send it off to be serviced and resealed etc, who would you recommend? Obvs I’d rather not spend money I don’t need to, but also don’t fancy the guy in Simpsons having a bash at it.

Standard answer on here is Calibre – https://calibrewatchrepair.com/

I had my tag serviced there after it stopped and came fully working and looking great. It did stop working again soon after but the tool it back (as you’d expect) and replaced some of the faulty new parts. All done quickly and it’s been fine since.

Edit to add – worth dropping them a message to see what they say, they were very responsive when I had initial queries

Another +1 for Calibre – very happy with some work they did for me recently.

I had similar with a nice seiko. Never got round to fixing it stuck it in a drawer. The good news after 15 years I found it recently took apart myself gently cleaned the hands (slight corrosion) new battery and all back working. Much to my surprise. So hopefully not fatal for your watch.
