My old Giant Dirt-e 2015 (Eeb Pioneer;-() is feeling odd 🙁 little jitters and draggy in places. Rather than replace motor or get a new battery etc.

    This caught my eye…

Anyone here got one ? Any real world reviews.

    My style..
Woodland with hills rider and the odd Cwmcarn type rides once in the blue moon.

PS Don’t fancy the online buy, but I suppose a credit card would protect a bit.

I’ve got one! But it’s the older version with Shimano E8000 motor so not really comparable to the Bafang. It rides really well but the spec was much higher than this new version e.g. Revelations, Guide REs, DT swiss wheels. So not very helpful I’m afraid. The Sentier platform, E and non E are very well thought of so hopefully the new one will handle as well

even cheaper once you sign in to your wiggle

however, even CRC’s own video said it was kinda conflicting in its use, it’s so heavy you lose the nimbleness required to ride a hardtail. and i can get that.

Not sure why anyone would get a hardtail e-MTB – isn’t a FS just comprehensively better once you have a motor? The e-mythique and sommet are well regarded from vitus, seem like the cheapest good FS ebikes you can get.

For me the reason for buying the E-HT rather than FS was simply cost. I don’t do any desperately technical riding and at the time I was buying , HT was £1500 cheaper than the cheapest FS.

    As @fog says.

My riding is quite tame, but not gravel.

I don’t need to be over biked. The Giant Dirt-e served so well, if I could work out the problem with spending a fortune, I would. But the costs start looking like a ne bike.

    Another E-Ht would be great.

    Thanks for the comments above.

trouble is, the entry level mythique is only a smidge difference in price, so why would you?

Smidge… Is still quite a bit.

Might look at the Giant Talon Eeb as well, since the Dirt-e has done so well.

Buying online without looking makes me a bit nervous.

I realise it requires a time machine but Chiggle’s own discounts have been the most compelling competitors to this new bike. The eMythique was a low as £2200 at one point and £3k for the top spec one so spending £2700 on the HT would erk somewhat.

If you can be bothered to trawl the Web there are plenty of FS eeb reductions out there: https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/mondraker-chaser-29-2023-electric-bike?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5fetBhC9ARIsAP1UMgEv5ius5ThJje60yD0WKbjmNlE1PGEAaxaxKhL7Ys7R02lZAPVOQHsaAr0zEALw_wcB#187=4593

I wouldn’t touch one considering how cheap a full suspension one can be had . And with a better motor too.

A two second search found this cube.

Stick in a common British cycling code for 10% off and for the sake of an extra 250 quid you have a bosch motor, bigger battery and a much better bike.
