I have a new iPhone 4 (not an S) that is currently locked to Orange. I need to use it overseas in a country where Orange doesn’t work (well it does but it costs a bomb!!). Orange won’t unlock it until I’ve had it for three months.
Does anyone know of an internet guide that’s sure to work and not turn my phone into a paperweight?
I tried the stall on my market but to be honest they didn’t inspire confidence!!

You could Jailbreak it. But you have to use a a special version to unlock it.

    Here

    Have a read.

Oh yeah, it depends on what firmware you are running.

How long are you going for? Would it be worth buying a local PAYG SIM card?

Yep, the company I work for supply local PAYG sim card but they won’t work in my locked iPhone hence the reason I want to unlock it 🙂

Cheers for the link, I’ll have a read.

Use your old phone until the three months are up?
