Anyone got any tips for removing surface rust from a painted frame. Is vinegar any good? Don't want to damage paint.

Kurust will do it... But you've got to rustproof/paint after, because nothing in teh world rusts like a surface that's been rusty then kurusted.
Once i removed the rust from my old frame, it made it even more obvious how bad the paint was so I ended up totally respraying- so be warned.
