[b]Beneath a Steel Sky[/b] is available on iOS hatter. It's pretty good though shorter than I remembered (probably due to not having to wait 10 minutes to load each level).

Another vote for Turrican 1 & 2 here. They were amazing games, I still play them on an emulated A500, but something is lost in the translation to an XBox controller, it needs a Competition Pro 5000 with autofire for best effect.

There's been a slew of conversions to iOS, but they all fail when you have to use a touch screen in lieu of a decent controller.

My other vote would be for Elite II: Frontier, but my wish was granted earlier this year when Elite: Dangerous went beta. I stumped up £100 for the privilege and despite a few glitches I'm confident that the final release will do the original justice.

I was aware of that, It's a rejigging, not a full remake really.

Not one that needs remaking as it's been released on many formats over the years but I still really enjoy playing Doom, superb fun and almost 22 years since the original release.

I had Speedball 2 way back on the Xbox 360, was still an awesome game. IMO there needs to be a remake of Roadblasters, Chase HQ and finally some sort of X-wing / Tie fighter update for PS3.
Not rebel assault style either! Nothing beat being able to actually switch shields to double front on my 486.

Its not quite the same but go and look up Spelunky - it can be very frustrating the way R. Dangerous was with the disadvantage that you can't actually learn the level maps (they regenerate).
