    Dawn wall is a great documentary. Oddly I think I preferred it to free solo, despite the latter being more terrifying and extraordinary.

    They are both very good but I think the best of the lot is Valley Uprising. I don’t know if it’s still on Netflix but I’d highly recommend it.

    At the end of watching The last Mountain I was left wondering how many families are there where where every person in their own way is or was extraordinary

    Another good documentary is The Summit about the 2008 K2 disaster, horrific and fascinating in equal measure. It’s amazing to see how driven some of these high altitude climbers are in the face of what seems obvious and mortal danger.

    Watched this last night

    some very odd characters indeed

    some very bad decisions

    quite sad all around really

    suicidal, was my main thought

    much like suicide, it is the family who are left with the loss
