What’s with the hash browns guys? You’ll be shoving pancakes and maple syrup in there next.

    Fried cockles? Holy sh1t.

whats the best way to make fried bread?

Fry all dead animal first. Use the fat in the pan to fry the bread. Make sure you quickly flip it over so both sides absorb the life-giving fat evenly.
I prefer to cut the slices in half before frying for ease of handling and more even cooking.

Hash browns are an American abomination, the proper potato based accompaniment is:
    Bubble and Squeek
    Bacon
    Sausage
    Fried Egg
    Black pudding
    Tinned tomatoes or baked beans
Toast and butter (clearing the bean sauce or tomato juice)
    Tea in a large mug

Fried bread, dip the bread in the fried/grilled animal fat on both sides and then put in a dry frying pan to crisp on the surface. (It should not spray the room with shrapnel when cut into).

Left over curry/kebeb/chinese/pizza or combination of any or all of these, nuked to enamel melting temperatures and served with tea strong enough to stand a spoon in.

I think it is fairly important that you can’t see the plate it is on.
Ramones in Cardiff do a good fry up, along the lines of warton pic with unlimited tea/coffee.

What you need to do is get yourself down to the National Gallery of Scotland cafe in Edinburgh and have yourself a full Scottish breakfast while gazing out over Princes Street gardens.

They sell Buckfast tonic wine in my local off licence, I have no need to travel to Edinburgh.

Try adding fried halloumi to your favourite combo.

I’m surprised at the number of people suggesting that mushrooms are not required. Clearly an essential as long as they are properly fried not stewed in liquid.

I’m partial to potato of some kind. Clearly hash browns are inauthentic but I do like them. Alternatively sautéed potatoes.

    So ideally it would be:

    bacon
    sausage
    eggs (Fried or poached)
    black pudding
    mushrooms
    grilled tomato
    beans
    fried bread
    some form of fried potato
    toast on the side

I am not sure it is Yodagoat. Don’t see any haggis and there are hash browns in place of tattie scones.

Tomatoes in a full English are a total mystery to me. IMO should be:

    Sausage
    Bacon
    Fried eggs
    Toast
    Mushrooms
    Black pudding
    Hash browns
    Beans (optional)
    + lots of brown sauce.

You can get a good Irish breakfast in O’Neill’s (I know, I know) and there’s a new-ish cafe in Capel Curig does a good fry up too. Breakfats is always one of my favourite parts of going away to the hills, especially if staying in a B&B

Is that raw tomato? How odd.

I like this inbuilt handles on the plate to help with carrying the heavy load.

That Scottish one looks pretty good actually… Apart from the tomatoes.

Where in Capel Curig (the vast metropolis) is the new cafe? I’m up there in a couple of weeks.

Can’t believe the number of mould eaters on here!

    Sausages
    Bacon
Eggs, 1 or 2 fried but runny, and a good spoon ladle full of scrambled.
    Hash browns
    Mushrooms
    Black pudding
Going to go out on a limb here and say spaghetti hoops instead of beans. I don’t like beans, but want the tomato sauce. (It’s my breakfast, I’ll have what I want!)
    Slice of white toast
    Slice of white fried bread
    Bucket of strong milky tea.
    Enough for seconds

A full English aka the “fry up” clue in the name is if it ain’t fried it’s not going on my plate. I like black pudding, sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms. Toast to mop up the juices and all washed down with a pint mug of tea.

Except I emigrated to Scotland so my breakfast now also includes square sausage, fruit pudding, and tattie scones.

As I grow older I realise that less is more, a breakfast should be made of the best possible ingredients and not too many of them.
The first is a good sausage, made by a proper butcher and cooked to perfection, the oven is good for this but any heat will do as long as its not too harsh.
Then good bacon, grilled, as much or as little as you like.
Eggs depend on your mood, sometimes scrambled with a little parmesan and chilli but poached or fried are more usual.
If you can get good black pudding then add a slice but dont overcook it.
Fried bread must be a good thick slice fried in red hot oil so that it is crisp.
Apart from that plum tomatoes, seperate from your plate to dip in and out of are nice but not everybody`s cup of tea.
Some good bread with real butter goes much better than toast and a mug of tea or coffee, whichever is your poison.
Whatever you do dont add beans, hash browns or anything else for that matter, well except maybe the Sunday papers.

    Beans
    Mushrooms
    Fried tomato
    Hash Brown
    Tattie scone
    Fried Bread
    Toast

    OPTIONAL
    Haggis
    Lorne Sausage
    Roll
    Brown sauce
    Ketchup (if you’re a **** heathen)

Catfood. There is no space for Parmesan in a fry up. Or chilli.
But you’re right about getting your gear from a decent butcher.

Aye. Fully agree. Just not in a full fry up.
Some chilli and fresh coriander on scrambled eggs is tasty.
