Ha, good friends son works in Germany and he’s been out to see his son a few times. DAB is pretty grim now, with loads of cancellations, late trains, to the point that Swiss rail has placed also sorts of impediments to German (and Austrian) trains continuing in to Switzerland. French railways still have full access to the Swiss rail system due to their punctuality.
Funnily enough though the British nay sayers criticised the proposed TGV line to Bordeaux … it has proved successful, somewhat different to HS2 to Manchester, Leeds, etc
