Ok, so a seam has split on our family tent and I was wondering if it possible to repair it?

Not leaking at the moment but the only thing holding it together is the waterproof seam tape and I am worried the split will grow as its in quite a high stress join:

Anyone got any ideas?

Resew it with needle and thread then smear with silicon.

Exactly the same thing happened to ours , mrscarlos just stitched everything back up and we used some rubber sealant stuff(from go outdoors) on either side to re-seal it.

Re sew, and apply tent seam sealant (available at any tent emporium)

I’m worried about the main fabric starting split, is that likely?

Hi folks,
sorry to resurrect an old thread but we were just thinking of buying a Vulcan when OH stumbled upon this discussion. Is it a bad idea then?

Had your Vulcans been used lots by the time the rips appeared? Have you had any other major issues with this tent? I.e. what I’m getting at, were those rips a result of wear and tear through extensive use, or is it a design/manufacturing fault that should put me off buying?
