Hi all,

Could any experienced whee builders help me out please?

What length spokes do I need to lace 29" ex471 rims onto dt350 hubs.

Rear hub is boost. Front hub isn't

Thanks in advance

Centre lock or 6 bolt? STraight pull or j-bend? How many spoke holes? How many spoke crossings?

Dt Swiss site says 290/292 front, and 291/291 rear if using standard 12mm nipples.

Should be upto sorting that tbh , if you're planning on building them yourself. There's loads of spoke calculators ont net and Roger Mussons book.

I’ve used the Dt Swiss one mainly - but cross checked it against a few other calculators just to be sure. Most come out within a min of each other.

The ex471 will probably come with squorx nipples (alloy) and phr washers. When I built my XM481’s I soaked the nipples in wet chain lube overnight before I started building and covered the phr washers in a generous coating of waterproof grease before installation. Was a bit messy but I’m hoping it means nothing will seize up!
