Deadkenny – Totally agree on the distance ones, but why do you think the climbing ones aren’t relevant?
I tend to do about the same ascent per hour (400m, give or take) whether I’m on my road bike or MTB.
They’re a bit more relevant I suppose, but it’s location based. I can compare to people I know in my area and often I’ll do well off road as most the road riding while may be on the same hills, doesn’t clock up the same elevation in a ride as the off road is a lot more up and down. So in a way it’s the opposite problem. But then I’m following people who live or are visiting proper hills and just can’t tell if that’s road or off road, and plus as I mentioned uplifts skew it completely.
Just needs some categorisation. MTB ride, road ride, uplifted ride so it will ignore the climbs, etc. Can keep the combined challenges, but if the rides can be categorised then they can be filtered better or have specific filtered challenges.
Not going to happen. We’ve been asking for this for ages and Strava have no interest in off road. Yet they are happy to break snow sports into multiple disciplines. They’ve even added an e-bike category!
