STOP REMAKING EVERY FILM EVER MADE YOU FESTERING, MALODOROUS, IGNORANT, FECKLESS

There is a difference between a sequel and a remake. Aliens sequel was not a remake. The reboot of Battlestar Galactica was better than the original. All of star wars is shite, apart from empire.
Posted 2 years agoOh good. Another sequel.
Looks like a lot of men and white people in that trailer. Tessa must have got paid a few quid then.
Posted 2 years agoI’m not raycisst , but I doubt there would have been a black guy about sherwood 900 a.d.
Really? 10,000 years ago, most Britons were black*, and there were traders from around the Mediterranean including the phoenicians, coming to Britain and trading with the Cornish anywhere from 1500-300BC. The Romans brought black slaves and troops the Britain, plus there were the Crusades going on, and Moors who held part of southern Spain.

I just tried to edit my last post to allow that link to work properly, and I get ‘whoops, nothing found’. How can nothing be found, I’d only just posted it!

I take it this is the news of Ghostbusters 3 may go ahead as in a sequel.
Posted 2 years agoI did hear some distressing news that the classic Dirty Rotten Scoundrels may be getting re-made, another all female job.
Posted 2 years agothe classic…

I think this is the one that Dan Aykroyd has been working on for years that got binned in favour of the 2016 effort.
Posted 2 years agoYup it’s one that’s been planned for years but Bill Murry was never onboard.
Posted 2 years agodo bears still shit in the woods? of course, so not surprisingly there’s another Spiderman movie out this year….
Posted 2 years agoOooh look a teaser for the sequel.
Posted 2 years agoCan’t believe the Searchers has never been remade actually. Not sure I would have liked JW as a person, but he was great in the Searchers, v good in True Grit and also good in the Shootist I thought…
Posted 2 years agoCan’t believe the Searchers has never been remade actually
I’m thinking Ground Hog Day.
Posted 2 years agoMy 8 year old boy thought the new version of True Grit was better after watching both over a week…I is disapoint.
Posted 2 years agonot a film but tv series – had no idea that “life on mars” was remade for the US market – picked up a box set as stocking filler for mrs antigee and got approval until fired up to find action transferred to NY with “actors” pulled in from car wash duties in LA
Posted 2 years agohad no idea that “life on mars” was remade for the US market
I watched that*, but not the UK one**. I don’t think they ever finished the series’ though? How many in the box set? Harvey Keitel and Christopher from the Sopranos.. quality stuff.
*because Lisa Bonet
Posted 2 years ago
**because John SimmRemaking The Intouchables. Without subtitles and I think set in in the US. My favourite film. My son is outraged. Ironic as None of the Tired clan wanted to watch it originally, but I said give it five minutes and if you don’t like it, I’ll turn it off. They’ve all seen it more than once.

18 episodes (plus deleted scenes and bloopers!) on 5 DVDs labelled “the complete series”
quite enjoy but mainly for the nostalgia of gross sexism in the workplace and smoking in pubs etc [stw is now a smiley free zone]
Posted 2 years agoI’d like a remake of Terminator 1.
Posted 2 years agoOk which one of you asked for this?
Posted 1 year agoPosted 1 year agoSaw that dumbo trailer before captain marvel and immediately thought of this thread
Posted 1 year agoHave we done the reboot of suicide squad, with James Gunn?

Erm…
Posted 1 year agoThat new Gummidge is like a cross between Predator and Davy Jones.
I’ve seen Dumbo! (s’crap)
Posted 1 year agoThat new Gummidge is like a cross between Predator and Davy Jones.
With a bit of Freddie Krueger thrown in.
Posted 1 year ago*wispers* I quite enjoyed Aladdin, and the jungle book remakes
But I think that was because I enjoyed the originals. Never cared for dumbo.
Looking forward to the Lion King…
Posted 1 year agoWith a bit of Freddie Krueger thrown in.
plus a Dr Who Ood
Posted 1 year ago
Ermmmmm what the actual ?
Posted 1 year agoThat Gummidge thing could be good.
Posted 1 year agoBel-air looks hilarious 🤪

I think he’s got great taste. I’d take the dude over the fat plank of wood that is a John Wayne any day of the week.
Spider-Man not a remake either. Just Marvel helping Sony to make proper films involving the web slinger.
WTF have they done to Wurzel?
Posted 1 year agoNo!
They cannot re-make the fresh Prince as some sort of coming of age/class/race commentary, especially without the comedy and most importantly without Will Smith!
It’s just lazy at this point, it’s not “re-imagining” it’s just rehashing.
Certain things are in and of their times, if a tale or trope is worth retelling then write a new story to do it… I’m with the OP on this, any writer who drafts a script for one of these should be drummed out of the guild.
Posted 1 year agoAgree. A simple mashing-up would’ve provided a bucket of original material: The Bel-Air Witch Project.
Posted 1 year agoThat Bel-Air thing is just a trailer. Sort of a concept piece.

• 'Home Alone'
• 'Night at the Museum'

Posted 1 year agoI waiting for the LOTR remake in 2040
Posted 1 year agoOut of them, only Home Alone was any good. But even then the first hour and a half is slow and it only gets going at the end. By modern film standards, the old version doesn’t have the constant action entertainment that kids like.
Posted 1 year agohow **** desperate must you be to think remaking “cheaper by the dozen” is a good idea !?
