If I was the sort of lunatic that wanted to do DH on a hardtail, I’d defo build it singlespeed. You so rarely need the other gears anyway, so why have the grief, noise and cost of gears.

Yep, should have entered the Weekender! I broke my thumb with a silly off the first day in France – going for surgery on Tuesday 🙁 Then I can get on with my recovery.

I thought GW had won this event on a roadbike that was designed for a small child years ago?
